Disconnecting from FirstClass

FirstClass is an easy-to-use communications and information system that lets you perform tasks such as sending private email and collaborating within online conferences. We assume here that you are familiar with the FirstClass environment. For complete documentation about FirstClass, see the online help available with the FirstClass desktop client.

What menu to use

When you are working with items in FirstClass, use the context menu for listed items that you can select.

If an item is open, you'll be able to do the same things using the options menu.

An overview of your FirstClass Desktop

When you connect to FirstClass with your mobile device, you see your FirstClass Desktop. Your Desktop will include your Mailbox and any conferences and folders that you have created on your Desktop. Other FirstClass objects aren't supported on your device at this time.

Tip

You can return directly to your Desktop from anywhere in FirstClass by touching and holding the Back button.

About those red dots

A red dot indicates that a container (such as your Mailbox) contains items you haven't yet read. The number beside the red dot tells you how many unread items there are. Each unread item inside the container is also marked with a red dot.

Opening an item to read it removes its red dot. You can manually remove a red dot from an item without opening it by choosing Mark As Read from the context menu.

You can also remove the red dots from all unread items in a container by choosing Mark As Read from the context menu.

Seeing who created a container

If the person who created a conference or folder has an OpenText Social Workplace profile, you can see that profile by choosing Show Author from the menu.

Removing containers from your Desktop

To remove a container from your Desktop, choose Delete from the context menu.

Disconnecting from FirstClass

Choosing Logout from the options menu disconnects you. You are returned to the Login screen.
