When you connect to OpenText Social Workplace, you see your home page. This is the starting point for everything you can do in OpenText Social Workplace.
Tip
You can return directly to your home page from anywhere in OpenText Social Workplace by touching and holding the Back button.
When you are working with items in OpenText Social Workplace, use the context menu for listed items that you can select.
If an item is open, you'll be able to do the same things using the options menu.
A red dot indicates that a container (such as a community) contains items you haven't yet read. The number beside the red dot tells you how many unread items there are. Each unread item inside the container is also marked with a red dot. Unread items also trigger a notification on your device's home page.
Opening an item to read it removes its red dot. You can manually remove a red dot from an item without opening it by choosing Mark As Read from the menu.
You can also remove the red dots from all unread items in a container by choosing Mark As Read from the context menu.
If you want to flag something you have already read, for future action, you can put the red dot back by choosing Mark As Unread from the menu.
A green dot beside someone means they are currently online.
People with whom you have chatted are listed in My Chats. When you open their entries, you can see older chat comments and resume chatting with them.
The items listed in My Flagged Items are those you are monitoring for any responses or changes.
If you've been invited to join a community, you'll see the invitation here.
The people listed in My People are those you have decided to follow because their activity particularly interests you.
All the communities to which you belong are listed on your home page.
A community consists of people with a common interest, such as those working on a special project, or everyone in the same department. Communities allow members to discuss issues, store files of common interest, and add to communal wikis.
To see the profile of the person who created a community, choose Show Author from the context menu.
To visit a community, open it.
To keep track of community activity when you aren't connected to OpenText Social Workplace, choose Subscribe from the menu. OpenText Social Workplace will send you an email for every new community activity, such as a new post or updated wiki page. To stop receiving these emails, choose Unsubscribe from the menu.
To remove a community from your home page, choose Leave or Delete from the menu.
