This is a Control Panel that defines some global rules for all FirstMagic Installations on the Server.

You can most likely leave these settings as they are, though you might want to take a closer look if:
- You use a FCIS 11.0 distribution [some 11.0 releases has a buggy Search mechanism, and the Control Panel gives you a filter to overcome it]
- You use a lot of Digital Signs and want better control over them
- You want to customize what kind of devices that will receive the Mobile UI

Restart Signs Daily: Signs do not need reloading to retrieve new items and events, it happens asynchronously in the background. So, if someone posts an News Item to the sign, it will appear within a few seconds, all by itself. However:
If you leave Digital Signs continuously running, they will sooner or later run out of memory. Modern computer / browser configurations will run for several days before this happens, but sooner or later the Sign will drop out. To help overcome this, all signs will reload completely at a specified time of day. The default is set to 02:45 in the morning, but you can change this to any time you prefer.
Force reload on timeout Since the Sign calls the server continuously to check for news, it will stop working if the network connection is lost. If you check the Force Reload checkbox, all signs will reload if that happens. Use this function with caution: if checked, the Signs will continue reloading over and over until connection is reestablished.

By activating this feature you can bring up [via the tiny arrow button] a script where you can customize what devices wil get FMs Mobile Interface as default. This is only useful if the default settings aren´t fine-grained enough for your purposes, and most probably, you can leave this setting as is.
The Device Filter is an IS script that detects the User Agent and acts on it if specificed.
